Show Notes:

Do you enjoy spring as much as I do? Besides the gorgeous weather, I just love the feeling of renewal and hope that comes with this season. Not to mention that you’re in the tail end of the school year. Some of you may even be finished teaching for the year already!

It just feels like we've gotten through a really tough season in our lives, doesn't it? With COVID settling down, I think we all hope that life continues to go back to normal. Wouldn't it be amazing to just have a summer of travel, fun, exploration, and getting back to the way things used to be?

Speaking of renewal, fun, and fresh starts, I’m so excited to welcome so many new teachers into the R.E.A.D.Y. for School Academy. I just can’t wait to get started with supporting you and developing an amazing community with all the new teachers that are joining.

So, this is my quick shout out to my newest R.E.A.D.Y. for School Academy members. I'm so happy that you’ve joined us! This also goes to my alumni, many of whom have made the decision to join us again for a second summer to get some additional coaching and extra support inside our community.

Regardless of whether or not you’re ready to join us in the Academy, you're invited to my new, free masterclass: How to Get Ready for the School Year in 5 Weeks or Less. Just click below to learn more and save your seat now!

I've been getting tons of great questions about the R.E.A.D.Y. for School Academy, and questions about whether or not the Academy is a good fit for where you are in your journey as a teacher. So, today I wanted to dedicate this episode to answering some of the most common questions that I’ve received. I want you to have all the information you need so that you can make a decision that’s best for you.

In this episode, you’ll hear me answer your questions like:

  • How much time does it take to go through the entire Academy?
  • Can’t I just figure this out on my own?
  • Should I wait to purchase the academy if I’m still a student teacher?
  • Should I purchase the Academy if I don’t have a contract yet and/or if I don’t know which grade I’ll be teaching yet?
  • What do I do if I just can’t afford the Academy right now?

I really hope that if you came to this podcast episode with a question in your mind, that it was answered for you. If you’re anything like I was as a new teacher, you may just feel like you can figure everything out on your own. While you can take that route, I want you to know that there’s an easier way. The Academy will save you so much time, money, and stress, while giving you the tools you need to be a confident, effective, and happy teacher.

Take it from Academy graduate, Alison, who says:

"The Academy has changed my life. Everything I was trying, and largely failing to do, or make on my own, has been done and explained for me in this program. I'm going into my third year of teaching and for the first time I feel confident to approach a new school year knowing that I have the tools and resources to do it well. This was the missing piece I've been looking for. If you're a new teacher wondering if you should invest in this course, my answer is yes. I do not feel overwhelmed like I did the past two years."

If the road leads you to the Academy, I'm thrilled and honored to support you on this journey. If not, I wish you nothing but success in the year ahead!

Inside this week's show, you'll learn:

  • How to earn a 10 hour PD certificate upon completion of the Academy.
  • Why the Academy makes such a difference for teachers, and why many of them make the final decision to join.
  • Why purchasing the Academy while you’re student teaching is the absolute best time to purchase, and when it’s too early to purchase.
  • What it really means to run a classroom effectively (hint: it's not what you learn in University!)

I hope this information is helpful as you prepare for your first, second, or third year of teaching. Until next time, remember, just because you're a beginning elementary teacher, there's no need for you to struggle like one.
