Show Notes:

Let’s talk about a very underrated classroom management tool…timers. Specifically, using timers in your PowerPoint slides. This is one of my favorite ways to streamline and improve classroom management. So much so that I’m shocked I’ve managed to create over 200 podcast episodes without talking about it!

Using timers in your PowerPoint slides can be a complete game changer when it comes to managing your classroom. It’s one of those things that I always assumed every teacher did. However, after talking to many of you, I realized that a lot of people haven’t been using them. If you are one of those people, then this is going to be a game changer for you!

At the time that this episode airs, we’re coming up on winter break. This can be a time of the year when a lot of teachers are able to take a step back from what they’re doing in the classroom, and reflect on what they might want to change for the second half of the year.

You’re probably looking for a more improved and efficient way of running your classroom. That’s why this is the perfect time to talk about how to use timers, and why I encourage you to start using them if you aren’t already.

I love timers for so many reasons. When you use them in your PowerPoint slides, they are highly visual, which helps both you and your students stay on track. They support your students in learning the essential skill of time management, which we all know can be a very hard skill to teach and master!

Visual timers can also build reading stamina, prepare students for timed assessments, help students practice presentations, support with end of day cleanup, and so much more. Plus, they can even help you improve your teaching practice.

I could go on and on about the benefits of visual timers! In fact, I am giving you 15 ways that you can use timers to streamline your classroom management in today’s episode.

If you are ready to try timers in your PowerPoint slides, I’ve made it really easy for you! You can grab my new PowerPoint slides here
