Show Notes:
I love sharing content with teachers that helps make their classrooms engaging and fun for their students to learn necessary skills. The more fun we can have with our students and creative we can be with our lessons, the easier it is for you to manage your classroom. Incorporating creative techniques creates student buy-in that results in student engagement.
Getting your students interested in what they’re learning is the key to keeping them engaged in a well-managed classroom. I want your students to enjoy what they’re learning in fun and creative ways. These next few episodes are going to be an idea dump of all the ways that you can effectively enhance your lesson plans that fosters student engagement. Think of it as a buffet of ideas to choose from when your activities, lessons, review, and more need to be fun!
The two topics I initially cover incorporate game elements and interactive technology or augmented reality (AR). Each of these two ideas support collaboration, teamwork, makes learning an adventure, and provides a real time aspect to learning. These ideas benefit all students, particularly visual learners by making abstract concepts tangible. In this episode, you’ll begin to create a toolbox of creative strategies that increases student engagement in your elementary classroom.
If you want more creative ideas in one location, be sure to join The Classroom Management Club. Being a member will get you access to teacher cheat sheets with a list of all the ideas to reference whenever you need. Also, be on the lookout for more creative teaching strategies that inspire you when you’re trying to come up with ideas for creating more engaging lesson ideas for your students!
I hope this information is helpful as you prepare for your first, second, or third year of teaching. Until next time, remember, just because you're a beginning elementary teacher, there's no need for you to struggle like one.
