Welcome to Week #7 of the Beginning Teacher Training Series of the Year!

We are continuing our Beginning Teacher Training Series of the Year where each week, I am sharing fresh, new content for you to guide and support you as you prepare for your first (or second, or third) year of teaching so you can feel fully prepared on that first morning and during that first week of school. I know that this is a hot topic for new teachers, first, because so many of you tell me that it is, and also, because when I think back to when I was a new teacher, interacting with parents was one of the things that I felt LEAST qualified and prepared to do well.

Why don't they teach us a step-by-step process for getting parents involved and to help set us up for success from the beginning of the school year?

If you’re anything like me, I remember feeling like I was a fraud when I first started teaching, especially when I needed to interact with parents. So this week, I'll share what you can do to set yourself up for success when it comes to getting parents on your side from the beginning of the school year.
