Show Notes:

Countless times on this podcast, I’ve shared tips for improving your classroom management. We’ve talked about strategies, routines, and engaging activities that create a streamlined classroom management system specific to your needs. And while all of those small and consistent changes add up to huge results, there’s one thing missing to mastering your classroom management: your mindset.

You’ve heard me discuss mindset before, but I want to present it to you in a different way. Yes, you need to think positively, but it’s more than that. In today’s episode, I’m sharing the importance of believing in yourself and your ability to persevere during difficult times in the classroom.

However, I will warn you that some of the information that I present to you might be difficult to hear and has the possibility of triggering you. So before you turn it off, I ask you to listen with an open mind and ask yourself, why am I getting upset by this? Use the information in this episode as an opportunity to grow and learn, which will contribute to mastering your classroom management.

Whenever you implement something new, one day there comes a moment when everything starts to click and come together. This can happen to you too! If you apply my advice to your classroom teaching, not only will you master your classroom management (yes, really!), but you’ll also become a more confident teacher and enjoy your time in the classroom.

Inside this week's show, you'll learn:

  • 4 ideas that will guide you towards mastering your classroom management
  • Reasons why this episode might be triggering for you and how to look at that as a moment for growth and learning
  • A powerful and inspirational discussion about finding solutions and how to reframe your mindset towards the positive
  • Why changes for classroom management takes time and how your unrealistic expectations and pressure might be the reason you’re not seeing results

I hope this information is helpful as you prepare for your first, second, or third year of teaching. Until next time, remember, just because you're a beginning elementary teacher, there's no need for you to struggle like one.
