Show Notes:

Are you feeling imposter syndrome creep in as you are wrapping up student teaching? Did your first year in the classroom not go how you thought it would and now you’re thinking you have no idea what you’re doing teaching? Imposter syndrome is so common among new teachers but you don’t have to go through it alone!

There is something so comforting about hearing another teacher share about their struggles, what they’ve gone through, and how they worked through the challenges they’ve faced. It helps us feel less alone when we’re navigating the confusion and pressure that comes along with being a beginning teacher.

I am so grateful to have Kelsey Moody join me today to share about how she had imposter syndrome the whole time she was a long term sub, plus what else she struggled with in her long term sub position and student teaching. She is talking about why she hesitated enrolling in the R.E.A.D.Y. for School Academy and what finally nudged her to make the investment.

Kelsey’s journey to teaching involved some changed plans and pauses but when the opportunity came for her to jump into the classroom, she dove in despite having imposter syndrome. She finished her credentials, student taught in second grade, and will be teaching fourth grade this coming year. Even with having a year of long term subbing plus student teaching under her belt, she knew there would be such good value in the academy and decided to join.

Before joining the academy, Kelsey knew how important data and assessments were but felt like her methods were scatterbrained and clustered. She shares how the step-by-step process in the Academy has helped to streamline her processes.

Kelsey shares how the Academy helped her realize that there’s so much more to classroom management than she had thought and is excited to implement what she learned to create a classroom that runs itself! Although she has not finished the course yet, she feels like she has so much more control in how exactly she wants to lay out her classroom to set the tone for the classroom culture throughout the whole year. Because of the R.E.A.D.Y. for School Academy, she feels so confident going into next year and is ready to take on her own classroom with less stress and nerves!

If you want to start planning for next year, join me in my FREE live masterclass! You’ll walk away with proven steps to set up and organize your classroom and create a classroom management plan that actually works! I’d love to help you walk into the school year more confident! Can’t wait to see you there!
