Show Notes:

What’s a universal way to get someone smiling that doesn’t cost anything? Laughter! School is a place where students come to learn and grow as individuals, but one thing that makes students excited to come to school is by making it fun and engaging. Incorporating humor in the classroom is a small shift that has the power to transform your classroom atmosphere.

Humor isn’t just telling knock-knock jokes whenever you have time to fill between activities. Instead, there are so many more ways you can use humor to build connections and create a positive and engaging environment for your students. In today’s episode, I’m sharing 15 of my favorite creative ways to infuse humor in the classroom. I dive deeper into just how effective humor can be for creating a relaxed atmosphere where students feel safe to make mistakes, show their personality, and increase their engagement.

Believe it or not, incorporating humor in the classroom can be such a powerful tool in your classroom management system. By showing that you can have silly moments in your classroom, you begin to strengthen your relationship with students, create an inclusive and positive classroom culture, and get students excited to come to school every day and learn. So watch the magic happen as you intentionally start to bring humor in the classroom!

Inside this week's show, you'll learn:

  • 15 creative ways you can intentionally bring humor in the classroom and the impact it has on your students
  • Why the small and silly things can have the biggest impact while still focusing on academics
  • How you can use humor with classroom transitions and procedures, and why this might grab students' attention quicker than other methods
  • Reasons why humor is so effective in the classroom and how it can be your most powerful tool when it comes to classroom management
