Show Notes:

Welcome back teachers! This is a very special episode because this marks episode number one inside our Spring New Teacher Training Series for 2022.

Every spring, I like to focus on a series of very special topics that a lot of new teachers have been asking me about and are really interested in learning more about. So this year, we're kicking off this series with a very special episode, all about super creative class jobs.

One of the questions I get asked a lot inside the R.E.A.D.Y.  for School Academy is, which class jobs should I have in my classroom as a new teacher?

My answer is, how much time do you have? πŸ˜‚

But seriously, there are so many fun class jobs you can have inside your classroom! While we don’t have time in one podcast episode to go through all the possible class jobs that I recommend you have, we most definitely are going to talk about some of the most creative jobs that you can add to your class jobs board immediately.

These are jobs that your kids will love and that will make your room run even more efficiently. Between you and me, these class jobs are really going to make your job as a teacher easier. Sounds nice, doesn’t it?

I think these class jobs will be examples for you of how you can streamline what you’re already doing in your classrooms and have more fun while doing it. Let’s face it, this has been a really stressful year. It’s been hard for everybody, and I want to ensure that we add a little bit more fun, light, and brightness to your classrooms - especially this time of the year.

If you've been teaching all year, and you're heading into the spring, it’s very likely that you’re already in summer countdown mode. To help you get there, let's talk about how you can freshen things up and bring some fun back into your classroom for the rest of the year.

After all, fun is what we signed up for when we chose this profession, right? You chose this profession because you want to have fun with kids.

However, maybe right now you’re stuck in a rut and barely holding on until the end of the year finally arrives. You’re tired and uninspired. If this sounds like you, you’re going to love these ideas today. If you could just take one idea and implement it inside your classroom this week, I know it will add more joy into your classroom!

I also want to let you know that I have a very special mini offer of 12 of my most popular classroom management hacks to help you manage your classroom more efficiently and more effectively.

You can get those 12 classroom management hacks right away as an instant PDF download for only $3 right here! Inside this resource, I share quick and easy hacks for managing a chatty class, a hack for how to manage the rest of your class when you're trying to work with small groups, and more!

Inside this week's show, you'll learn:

  • Seven class jobs that are super creative and fun that will make your job as a teacher so much more enjoyable.
  • How you can empower your students by assigning them class jobs.
  • Why you should involve your students in choosing any kind of rewards you give.
  • One class job that will finally eliminate all of those distractions during small group lessons.

I hope this information is helpful as you prepare for your first, second, or third year of teaching. Until next time, remember, just because you're a beginning elementary teacher, there's no need for you to struggle like one.
