Show Notes:
If you’re a few weeks into the new school year, the harsh realities of teacher responsibilities and a constant overwhelming amount of stress have probably already sunk in. And unfortunately, when that happens, we begin to doubt ourselves which leads to comparing ourselves to more experienced teachers. Likewise, as new teachers, we’re often told that our skills and quality instruction isn’t to the standards of those veteran teachers. However, I’m here to tell you the exact opposite!
During that first month or two of your first year teaching, a lot of new information is thrown at you, along with managing a classroom. It’s no wonder the learning curve is so high and seems impossible you’ll feel any relief. However, the findings from a new study in Australia Education Researcher will give you the positivity you’ve been searching for.
Especially in this new post-Covid world, there’s been a lot of negativity surrounding education that affects the perception of teachers. But after the results of this study, it shows that you’re doing better than you think! Your commitment to students and continuous innovation in the classroom isn’t going unnoticed. So even though the excitement and newness of school has dwindled, know you’re doing everything right.
Even with this empowering research results, you still might need support and tips for improving certain areas in your classroom. If that’s the case, join The Classroom Management Club. You’ll get access to over 70 amazing classroom management hacks, 80 resources, and all past trainings to set you and your students up for success this school year. We even have a simple way for you to make small changes that drastically improves individual struggles in your classroom. I can’t wait to see you inside!
I hope this information is helpful as you prepare for your first, second, or third year of teaching. Until next time, remember, just because you're a beginning elementary teacher, there's no need for you to struggle like one.
