Show Notes:
Let’s talk about one of my most favorite things in the whole entire world...Halloween! I love this season for many reasons, one of which is all the creative activities that lend itself to this time of year. Not to mention the students' excitement. It's contagious! Can you blame them? Luckily, there are so many creative ways to incorporate their enthusiasm into your teaching during the month of October.
Now I also know that as October approaches, this is a time that teachers feel exhausted. You have made it through the stress of the beginning of the year, but Thanksgiving break still feels very very far away. That’s why I've designed today's episode to help you through it!
In this episode I hope to provide you with plenty of ideas to refresh your imagination and your creativity. I’ll give you several tips and resources to keep your kiddos inspired and engaged throughout the month of October. I am dedicated to offering seasonal resources that have been tested and approved by me and my students, so stay tuned for similar season-themed episodes throughout the year!
Even if your school does not allow you to use the word Halloween or do any type of Halloween activities, there will be plenty of fun ideas and recommendations that you can use!
Lastly, if you’re feeling drained by your students’ high energy around this season, try leaning into it. Remind yourself what it means to be a kid! Offering opportunities for your students to have some fun throughout the day helps them understand that we know how hard they’re working and we want to make their job, school, as positive and enjoyable as it possibly can be.
Don't forget to grab my First Year Teacher Bundle for October, which includes all the resources I referred to in this episode!

I hope this information is helpful as you prepare for your first, second, or third year of teaching. Until next time, remember, just because you're a beginning elementary teacher, there's no need for you to struggle like one.
